MLA
(Modern Language Association)International Bibliography...
consists of bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language,
linguistics,
and folklore and includes coverage from 1963 to present. MLAIB
provides access to scholarly research in more than 4,000 journals and series.
It also covers relevant monographs, working papers, proceedings, bibliographies
and other formats. The MLA Bibliography is a bibliographic index only, but the full text of journal
articles is linked in from other databases, where possible.
MLA International Bibliography ... is delivered via the web and
is accessible via FPC Library's Homepage (http://library.fpc.edu). The search inteface looks a lot
like the interface for EBSCOhost, but the material available is very different. All of the material
relates to articles on the literature of the modern languages of the world, though the focus is largely
English and the database includes very little material on literature in non-European languages.

MLA Search Tips
Limit search terms to one per line.
Doing this will allow easier combinations and easier searching.
Begin every search with the following
sequence:
|
la=english
|
(the database
contains articles in 35 languages)
[this will be assigned line #1] |
|
dissertation-abstract
in pt
|
(this will
isolate all entries that are classified as disserations in the publication
type field)
[this will be assigned line #2] |
|
#1
NOT #2
|
(this will
pull up all articles in english that are not dissertations)
[this will be assigned line #3] |
All following search combinations will then start with #3 AND #___ ....
