The "Search This Site" feature (available from the top toolbar on every interior page of the library website) is functioning properly again.
Snow Closings During Winter Break:
From December 20 through January 22, the Library will close whenever a "reduction of services" is declared on the Rindge campus, as students will not be in residence
on the campus during that time.
To determine whether the College at Rindge has declared a "reduction of services," please call 603-899-4100 and listen to the
University's voicemail greeting.
Library Hours During Winter Break:
The library is open Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, through January 21st.

December 14 - 18
During finals the Library is open from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 a.m. daily. Quiet study is enforced during the finals period. Space is available for group work as well. See the Full Schedule including hours during the winter break.
Reminder: Whenever possible, the Library remains open during weather-related campus closings and maintains its regular hours of operation, as shown above.

Video Games Are Here!
Thanks to the efforts of the FP Gamers Club, the library now has games for XBox 360 and Wii in circulation.
Look for them in the DVD section on the first floor.
October 5th, 12 noon - 4 p.m.
The Humanities Division and the Iota Omega Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta are sponsoring a Read-Out, Speak-Out event in the courtyard (between the Library and Peterson Hall) today. You are invited to join students, faculty, staff and community members in reading from their favorite banned book. There will be a selection on hand or you may bring your own.
A banned books exhibit created by student Ashley Hakala is also on display in the Library through October 12th.
Celebration of the Liberal Arts Program
The 14th annual Celebration of the Liberal Arts will be presented by the Franklin Pierce University Library the week of September 24th. Please join us for refreshments and to enjoy the programs below:
Tuesday 1:40-2:00 – Melissa Cooperman, an instructor in the Mass Communications Department, will show her film "Sunbonnet Quilters."
Wednesday 1:00-2:00 – Students in the Honors Program will present papers, including varied topics such as "Wonder Woman: Feminism and Superheroes," an examination of the role of women and female activism in the realm of the superhero comics of DC and Marvel, and "Bosnia," a PowerPoint presentation on the present culture of Bosnia, changed and unchanged since communist years.
Friday 12:00-12:30 – Susan Silverman, Fine Arts, will present "An Artist’s View of Chinese Treasures". This will be a visual feast of images from a recent artist’s tour of China, focusing on funerary artifacts from the ancient capital, Xian, teapots from Yixing, and selected treasures from the Palace Museum, Beijing and the Shanghai Museum.
Problem Displaying Item Records in Library Catalog
Recently, we've had sporadic trouble with the display of item records in the library's catalog. Searches happen quickly, but individual item records are often taking far too long to load. Our vendor is aware of this and is trying to resolve the problem. We're sorry for the inconvenience. If you need assistance, please Ask a Librarian.

Holocaust Rememberance Day Exhibit
Hillel prepared a display of books and artifacts in association with the Holocaust Rememberance Day program on April 18. The exhibit is on display now on the main floor of the Library and will be available for viewing through April 22.

Do The Humanities Actually Matter?
Thursday, March 15th at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Instruction Room
Students in the Honors program, Claire Tratnyek, Courtney Breese, Kelly Faulkner, and David Mattern, will moderate and present a discussion of the relevance of the Humanities. After positions are put forth, the discussion will open up to the guest faculty (Professors Robert Goodby, Robin Marra, Minghau Li), and then the audience is invited to participate. Come with your thoughts about why the Humanities do/do not matter. To whom do they/do they not matter? How do they matter? When do they matter? Share your thoughts on the function of humanities in your own discipline.

Announcing New Library PersonnelJonathan Galed was recently hired as the Media Technical Specialist. Annie Danzi, the newly hired Producer, begins February 5. Hours During the Start of the Semester
Due to the weather-related schedule change this week at the college, the Library is open on Tues Jan 17 from 8 am - 8 pm and will resume normal academic year hours on Thurs Jan 18, open 8 am - 11 pm.
